Why "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho???

Well, I chose The Alchemist because as I was reading through the list of suggested books, this one caught my attention. I had heard from several of my friends here at the high school and those that have read it either when they went through the high school or college. It seemed to be a very interesting book that every one either liked or was on the line. I particularly liked the theme for this quarter of non-American authors, since two out of the three books I’ve read this year are by non-American authors. So this theme was easy for me, it was just another book to pick, but The Alchemist has been on my “list-of-stuff-to-read-soon” for quite some time now.
